In 1966, at the age of 14, Carl J. Melichar enrolled with Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, was introduced to the fundamentals of art, and graduated in 1969. Since then his accomplishments have become numerous and varied, including 65 limited edition prints, several published front covers displaying artwork and photography, and several published feature articles on Alaska and wildlife.
Carl J. Melichar - The Sporting Dog Artist - has spent countless hours in the field experiencing a variety of wildlife and working with sporting dogs of all colors. Each artistic creation displays companionship and exuberance. Carl is an artist who enjoys the multitude of what is in nature and delights in the challenge of creating those images on canvas.
